Step Two - List Comparison - Example

This is an example of a comparison table to help put people from one or more lists into categories.  In this case there are two lists to be compared.  The categories list are down the left hand side, and the names of the lists are at the top. A comparison table like this can also be called a matrix.  Can you see how you could easily add another list of names on the right hand side for comparisons?
The categories on the lefthand side are ones that I have identified where a person from one list can be grouped with a person from the other list.
I have only used a few examples.  If you look at the mind map that you did earlier in the webquest, (an example is posted here on the blog) you will see other examples of categories that you may be able to use.

Remember:  This is just an example, so it has not been completed.  It would be up to you and your group to obtain all the research information for the top ten people that you choose.

Step One - Research Table

All of the informaiton has not been put in.  This is up to you and the members of your group.  This is just an example how to record and present the information for use in this webquest.  By reading the sentences and making note points it gives your research notes clarity and makes it easier to read and analyse.

Interview using Moviemaker - Example

This is an example of an interview with a Grandfather by his two Grandaughters.  Before the interview it is a good idea to have some questions to ask, or to discuss what you want to talk about in the interview.

Before this interview, the Grandfather had his money out and the girls talked about it with him so that they had some information and could ask good questions to get good answers.  This interview was recorded on a digital camera and made using moviemaker.  Although it isn't the best movie, it gives you an example of how to ask questions about money.  This would be a good collaborative task as someone could ask the questions, someone could hold the money, and someone could do the recording, and everyone could help with the editing.



My Money Design - Example

This is an example of my finished product.  I have chosen Mr Ian Kiernan as my top pick from my groups list of top ten.

My money design features Mr Ian Kiernan.  He was named Australian of the Year in 1994.  I chose him because he is an environmentalist and he started the “Clean Up Australia” campaign.

My Design

My $25 note is designed in a light green colour because I think green is associated with being clean and having a clean green environment.  I also have a picture of Mr Kiernan which I modified to look like a drawing in Serif Draw Plus.  I also have a photo of the logo for “Clean Up Australia Day” which Mr Kiernan is associated with.  One thing that is always important on these days is to wear gloves.  I have also put a pair of gloves on the money.  I have put the word Australia alongside Mr Kiernan’s photo.  I have also put a small square in the lower left hand corner of the money which is the clear security tag.  I have added the denomination in the top right hand corner, and also the serial number of the money.

Remember:  This is a brief example of my finished product.  You may choose to add more detail or colouring to your new $25 note.

Time Line - Example

This is an example of a time line from this website.  It only gives you the opportunity to put in dates and a brief description.  You cannot save this timeline, so it is something that must be done when you have all of your information in front of you.

Once again, I have printed out the timeline, scanned it and then uploaded it into my blog.  It may be an idea to put your timeline ideas on your wiki first, so that your group members can add important dates as you do your research.

Another example of a simple timeline where you can add clipart it here.  Or you can check out other great websites.  Timeglider and Dipity are also good websites to have a look at for examples.  Remember this is not the focus of your investigation but something that you can work on as a group as you progress through your investigation.

Graphic Organiser - Venn Diagram Comparison Example

This is an example of a Graphic Organiser - Venn Diagram. It is used to compare the two lists. One list is Australians already on our Money.  The second list is "Australian Of The Year Award" recipients. I have included SOME of the names from both lists on each side, and only ONE of the people who are on both lists.  It is up to you to complete the Graphic Organiser with all the names from both lists.

I got a copy of this graphic organiser from here and drew it up.  I then compared both lists and wrote some of the names down as an example.  I then scanned this diagram into my computer and then uploaded it to my blog.  This way other students can comment on my comparisons.
